Obedience : Step 1?

1 Corinthians 6 says: ¹⁴Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? ¹⁵What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

I have struggled with the verses above for years and years. I'm still struggling with them and my choices have resulted in much pain. It is time to obey. :(
